This codex gathers the old names of gods from classics, inscriptions, ritual songs, and oral memory, and receives the younger hauntings born in city streets. Every record remains anchored to published sources; the telling may wear the night, but its provenance does not vanish into mist.

The codex keeps two kinds of likeness apart: contemporary reconstructions shaped from textual descriptions, and historical witnesses drawn from public-domain paintings, engravings, and artifacts. The two are never presented as the same kind of evidence, and every old plate remembers where it came from.
